THE STANDING SPECIAL PROGRAMS OF THE FOUNDATION
PROGRAM FOR UNCOVERING THEORETICAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE
Our methodical researche enables us to exhibit and publish some original Dienes-documents while organizing and restarting choreographic and art of movement training. As from the year 2000 we have been researching in the frame of this program the work and activity of other art of movement artists (i.e. Mária Mirkovszky, Lili Kállay, Sára Berczik, Olga Szentpál etc.). This program ensures us to continue the reconstruction of original art of movement choreographies.
Here are some of the most important exhibition programs realised in the past years to which the Foundation contributed with information materials, pictures etc.:
2001 . Valéria Dienes Memorial Room (standing exhibition) in the Mihály Babits Memorial House, Szekszárd (7100 Szekszárd, 13, Babits Mihály Street)
2001. Exhibition entitled Dreamers of Dreams - Hungarians of Worldwide Importance, in the Millenáris Exhibition Hall
Furthermore we organised exhibitions in the frame of several programs financed by our Foundation. These documents can be reached under the menu point on our web-site (First Hungarian Art of movement Page - http://www.orkesztika.hu)
One of our nearest goals is to establish an integrated art of movement data base and the organize an itinerant exhibition entitled "The First Century of Art of movements"
We have organized several exhibitions from our own collection. The inheritances uncovered in the frame of the program, our library, videotheque, document-collection can be visited in the Art of movement Studio. Our plans include: to publish the processed souvenirs of cultural history, organize theoretical lectures, start a dancing film club and talks on dance aesthetics.
WITNESSES OF ART OF MOVEMENTS
A series of reports and talks were initiated in the frame of this program with living artists of art of movements in order to enlarge our existing source-materials and gain a more in depth understanding about the history of this artistic branch.
PROGRAM OF PUBLICATION

Since 1997 the courses of the foundation have been taking place under this name. From 2002 on, based on the Dancan-Dienes motion system and the traditional and modern Hungarian dancing techniques, it has become the school of the complex art of movement and free professional training. Beyond the art of movement material its curriculum consists of the attendant trends of choreography, as well as the theoretical and historical knowledge. Our school is also an institute for the practice teaching and school observation for students of pedagogy.

The program consists of theoretical and historical parts. Practical lessons are accompanied by a tailor-made research project on a freely chosen topic, and a presentation in each semester. Our courses are/were also held at the SOTE --Health Care College, and in the program of the PTE called Dancing University.
Since 2001 the branch of art of art of movements are presented by our teachers on several international training forums and institutes (e.g.: the Nazareth College in Rochester, New York USA, etc.)
The Art of Movement Academy program series
Since 2000, this has been the name of the theoretical and practical trainings of the Motion Culture Association (as well as of its successor is the Motion Culture Working Team).
The Hungarian Art of Movement Company
From 1999 to December 2003 it was functioning as a foundational special program. The scene of its functioning was the Art of Movement Studio. (See on the separate information sheet!)
RECEPTIVE AND FESTIVAL PROGRAM
The Orkesztika Foundation started its receptive theatrical program in 1999 under the title "PODIUM-DANCE". As shown by the name of the program, we set ourselves the aim to revive the branch of art podium dancing so fashionable also in the pre-war Hungary, as well as to create the possibility of self-presentation for the younger generations. These programs are conceived in the sign of practicing the free art.
SURPRISE NIGHTS
In the summer of 2004 we created an auditorium offering room for about 50 persons, making is possible for our renewed receptive theatre program to go on. Its aim is to give room and opportunity to experimenting performances and lectures in the premises of the Art of movement Studio.
THE SOLO DANCE - DUO DANCE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Working on the basis of an open competition system
The foundation invited tenders to the Solo Dance in 1999, and has been organising it since 2000, and since 2002 it has organised the Duo Dance Festival as well. Its aim was that -- beyond the conditions of the competition and without any constrains - as many artists as possible can present their independent choreographic work. The Solo and Duo Festival programs offer an opportunity to the creators to try out their artistic ideas. Either they can try them out on themselves or on an invited performer, and having their production weighed they can get some echo to the development of their work. In this way it offers a possibility to the audience to get to know creators, performers trying their wings, at the beginning of their career or working for several years.
In the past seven years 230 productions have been presented on these professional forums, and many from the modern contemporary field presented their first independent choreography here.
Since 2005 our festival has been an international dance festival based on a competitive system. From 2005 The Solo and Duo Dance Festival has expanded to be international. The development of the festival into international directions is of an utmost importance, and it is a natural concomitant of Hungary's entrance into the EU. The festival to be organised in our country can be a meeting point for Europe's young and experimenting artists of the dance. The special jury of the festival is also international. With the participation of Mrs, Éva Blazicková, the lady principal of the Duncan Centre Conservatory in January 2005; under the chairmanship of Ide von Heiningen in January 2006. The festival program is further reinforced by the possibility to participate in the master courses.
ATTENDANT ART EVENTS IN THE ART OF MOVEMENT STUDIO
Barefooted Gallery
In the rooms of our studio (hallways and staircases) we regularly organize non-permanent exhibitions of artists (fine, visual, figurative, etc) having links to the art of dance. The studio is excellent for exhibiting large photo prints due to its particularily large spaces (4,5-6 m interior height). Another interesting feature of our exhibitions is the "active" use of our rooms. We have organized several exhibitions in the dancing room where hundreds of young dance students could watch the pictures during dance classes for 1-2 months enabling them to have a closer understanding of one particular artist. Our 7 metre high staircase is permanently available for exhibitions.
Our club room is suitable for dance related events, lectures and professional meetings.
We are planning to organize a six monthly show of non-stop dance films and visuals with the title of "Nonstop-Movement".
DANCE AND ART of MOVEMENT STUDIO
Permanent site of our operations:
Following several previous attempts of having a sponsoring institution providing us space for our operations we decided to rent a location as of 2001. (From 1999 we had premises - that we could not fully use - thanks to cooperation agreements and private sponsorship.)
In 1998 we rented a rehearsal room in an unheated old factory. Between 1999 and June 2000 we continued our activities in the Józsefváros Podium Club. Unfortunately in the second half of the year 2000 our "Podium Dance" series and the work of our dance company had to endure some difficulties since the Podium Club was closed by the local municipality of district VIII.
Our financial resources were not enough to rent a location at the actual market prices. Our first Art of Movement Studio was opened under 72 Huszár street in district VII, the size of the room was 72 sqm and it was permanently available for the different programs of the dance company and the Foundation. This was the place where we tried to accomodate all of the Foundation's events, a library of dance related books and videos, a training room and a rehearsal room used by several different artists and dance companies.
Within two years (2001-2003) it became clear that this location is not suitable and too small for our operations, so we started to look for another place to be able to continue our activities under proper circumstances.
We finally managed to find a 303 sqm property in the heart of the city (VII. Rottenbiller u. 31.) which was suitable to be a rehearsal room and was offered at a reasonable rental price. We moved there in October 2003 and from January 2005 the property was enlarged to 432 sqm (club, office and rehearsal room), so the Art of Movement Studio can finally perform some community functions as well.
The dance complex of the Orkesztika Foundation is currently able to host the following events:
Free rehearsal room program, professional training, etc.
Base location of the Foundation's festival events
Hosting the "Surprise Nights" events
Rehearsal room of the Hungarian Art of movements Company and the Még 1 Motion Theatre
