The Orchestics Foundation

The Orchestics Foundation was founded in 1991. It functions as a public-benefit non-profit organization throughout the country.

The foundation's aims are as follows:   -  The chief aim is to take care of the cultural heritage of the creator of orchestics, Dr. Valéria Dienes.

Orchestics is a general and open system of human movements and behaviour. It is based on the structure of the human body and spirit and has been developed by Dr. Valéria Dienes inspired by Isadora Duncan’s modern dance technique and by Raymond Duncan’s simple and natural lifestyle.
Valéria Dienes's system is based on three criteria: harmony of the body, freedom of the spirit and peace of the soul, which are the basic elements of a balanced life.

In order to put the Duncan-Dienes system and orchestics into practice the aims of the Orchestrics Foundation are the following:

  • To preserve and develop the heritage of orchestics and art of movement

  • To organize and monitor the education in orchestics and art of movement in its scientific, artistic (choreographic, performing) and educational aspects

  • To use the Duncan-Dienes system for artistic purposes in dance performances

  • To institute scholarships, grants and prizes

  • To establish contacts with Hungarian and foreign institutions, schools and foundations of a similar profile.
